I am going to ask you some general questions to get an idea of what instruments might best fit you and we can talk in the end about what instruments you are interested in as well. From my experience it is best to have a variety of at least THREE instruments you are interested in … some instruments just aren’t the best choices for some students.”
OTHER ANSWERS SHOULD THEY ASK… We are currently teaching the majority of our students virtually via ZOOM so learning an instrument online is possible. Most of our instrument sections are 50% boy / 50% girl. Instruments don’t have a “gender".” We have been performing virtual concerts and hope to do “in-person” concerts again soon. We do have financial aid scholarships for private lessons, instrument use fees, and band fees (all can be accommodated). Mr. Guzman teaches the brass classes, Ms. Dukich teaches the woodwind classes, and Mr. Jadvani teaches the percussion class. We DO NOT do marching band in middle school. Mr. Guzman will notify “lottery” results on the website (www.vandeventerband.com) and by e-mail by March 1st.
